Samaniyan is about three officials named Shankar Narayanan (Ramarajan) and his two friends who plan to rob a bank in Chennai’s T-town. 

The theft brings the city to a standstill, with media attention and public attention. What doesn’t make sense in the film is the fact that only one of the men owns a bank, while the other two are holding their families at gunpoint in a worker’s home The music and the film’s cinematography is poor, female actors like Deepa Shankar and Indraja Shankar for their best performances. Though it caters to all age groups, it is better than Ramrajan’s earlier comeback film Medhai because it is more innovative.
