Raayan is a raw and angry film directed by Dhanush, which focuses on the lives of four brothers who run away from their village and end up in the city. 

The film follows their journey, with Raayan's mother she is responsibility and love for sister Durga. But Raayan faces a power struggle between Sethu and Durai, two gangsters who rule the neighborhood, and a new police officer in town.

Despite having a predictable plot, Dhanush's film feels unique and manages to capture the turmoil in the characters. The technical team with Om Prakash’s brilliant cinematography and AR Rahman’s music add to the tension and darkness.

The heart of the film is the emotional bond between the brothers, and Dhanush’s greatest success as a director is ensuring that the events touch on the brother-sister relationship, making it an exciting and emotional drama
