Maharaj is a film directed by Nithilan Swaminathan that focuses on the lives of two fathers, starring Vijay Sethupathi and the new Anurag Kashyap. 

The film is full of contradictions, the former leaves his wife and daughter Jothi and the latter lives happily with his wife and daughter The film is entertaining and keeps the audience invested, but times some feel engineered or manufactured.

The portrayal of violence against women is also problematic because it is used to show how awful the bad guys are. The quality of the antagonists, including Anurag Kashyap, is lacking, and the film’s focus on Maharaj and the police is a bit confusing.
