Kurangu Bommai, a Tamil film, is a hyperlink film with two main plots. In the first, Sundaram, an elderly head of a family in Tanjore, works for a criminal, and his son Kathir, the calling driver from Chennai, is handpicked in costume if he takes an idol steal to Sekar, a Chennai businessman. 

Unaware that his father has come to Chennai, the package ends up in Kathir’s hands. Sekar plots to cheat Ekambar out of his money by sacrificing a beautiful lamb. The intricacy of the film and the brilliant performances by the cast creates an impression on the audience. Smaller roles like Sindhanai and Sindhanai help create moments of comedy. The film’s non-linear story is characterized by a combination of classic cinematography and dark humour. The love song is also linked to the central theme of money, whether the characters are looking for it or not. The film ends with conflict between the characters, but the plot is foreboding.
