After a poor performance at the box office in Coffee With Kadhal, Sundar C returned to the Aranmanai franchise. The director has created a critically acclaimed program, with A-list glamorous stars, horror, a spiritual element, and a sense of humor that draws the whole family inside. 

The story follows a mother trying to protect her children after they are tragically killed by a demonic creature named Baak. The first half of the film has a slightly different visual appeal, borrowed from the Kannada film Vikrant Rona. But the director returns to the messy, overcrowded and quick cuts of the second and third films. Aranmanaya 4 does what it wants to do, imposing kitsch on us and holding us back with a lack of imagination and originality. It’s predictable, instantly forgettable, and mildly fascinating.
