"Life" is a major studio sci-fi film directed by Daniel Espinosa, set on a terrifying, terrifying space station. The film stars a team of scientists, including a rogue cowboy named Roy, medical officer David, and a science professor named Hugh. For those who are disappointed with "Prometheus" but still enjoy "Alien: Covenant," this movie is a way to relax.
This film has a consistent score by Jon Ekstrand, which is not very effective. The word "beat" abounds, and the film pauses for character development. Perhaps the filmmakers hadn’t figured out how best to use a killer space creature and a manned ship. The film also fails to use obvious cerebral tones in merciless B-picture settings, making it dumber than films that seem to have been beaten "Life" devotedly bounces back with a sour punchline and then blasts the '70s hit into a million excellent cinematic references .
Overall, "Life" is a disappointing stopgap for those disappointed with "Prometheus" and "Alien: Covenant."
