Mammootty plays a period horror drama with local fantasy elements in Rahul Sadasivan’s Bramayugam. The film follows Koduman Potti, a lowly singer who escapes from crumbling bondage. 

The film explores the dark secrets of the house and the struggle between the two to free themselves from Chathan. Jothish Shankar’s script, direction and art direction create a haunting atmosphere, with cinematography by Shehnad Jalal and editing by Shafique Mohammad Ali and music by Christo Xavier also impressive. 

However, sometimes the narrative with class politics and religious philosophy lacks flow, affecting the story. Mammootty’s performance is captivating, Siddharth softens his character and Arjun Ashokan gives excellent support.
